| The pottery of the second temple period |
The excavations conducted in Tiberias from
1989 to 1994 focused on two sites located
within the boundaries of the ancient city:
The first in the area of the Sewage
Processing Plant at the foot of Mount
Bereniece, approximately 200 meters above
the sea of Galilee.
The significant remains at both sites contribute
greatly to the reconstruction of the history of
ancient Tiberias.
This report is divided into two parts: Part one
presents the finds from the sewage processing
plant salvage excavations and part two, from the
excavations on the summit of
Mount Bereniece.
Through Roman Byzantine structures, Mosaics,
pottery, numismatic finds, glass/metal objects and
bone figurines this book takes you on an
archaeological journey through ancient Tiberias.
